Pani ka Puka
A Call to Action
In 2014, we launched a campaign to restore our wall, our foundation, and our community. The motivation was repairing a 50-year old, 200-foot wide hole in the kuapā.
"Pani ka Puka" became our rally.
On December 12, 2015 we blew the pū and crossed our fingers that 1,000 people from our community would join us to fix the hole. In the end, we lost track after about 1,800 people!
It was an amazing success in terms of the work accomplished, community activated, and lāhui reconnected.
Moʻokuapā is a continuum of Pani ka Puka.
The offspring. The descendant. The next step 10 years later. We are the continuum.
Relive the 2015 event below. Mahalo ʻŌiwi TV for helping to tell the story.
